Main objective

Millions of Nigerians are not given free access to Free Speech by the mainstream news media controlled by the government agencies or private owners, and the online public forums are moderated and often edited by their owners who will not publish the views of those who are not in their good books. Therefore, it is imperative to create an online public forum for the public by the public and moderated by the public without any personal bias. iPost Nigeria will increase appreciation of the internet in Nigeria through the over 100 million users of GSM phones who will be free to use their mobile phones to report news and information on incidents and events happening in their respective communities on iPost Nigeria.

Brief Project Description

Therefore, it is imperative to create an online public forum for the public by the public and moderated by the public iPost Nigeria will offer a free for all online public platform for popular debate on whatever matters to Nigerians and others in Nigeria and abroad for public debate. They can use their GSM phones to record and report their news events and incidents from their different locations in Nigeria and abroad without censorship. iPost Nigeria Community News Hub is for the promotion of popular debate for democracy and governance in Nigeria, the most populous country in Africa where over 75% of the population are illiterates and need mass literacy campaigns through public information and mass communication for public enlightenment.

Awards and distinctions

Nigerians Report Online was the Nigerian organizer of the premiere of "Girl Rising" in Nigeria to celebrate the United Nations International Day of the Girl Child to raise funds for the education of underprivileged girls out of school in Nigeria, the most populous country in Africa with over 6 million poor girls out of school.

Explanation

iPost Nigeria of Nigerians Report Online is an unprecedented citizen media/social media project that will not only promote free speech in Nigeria, but will also bridge the wide communication gap between majority of Nigerians and the millions of Nigerians in the Diaspora and other nationalities in the world to communicate freely with their camera phones live 24/7 for the the first time. iPost Nigeria app allows live video reports that people cannot do on YouTube or CNN iReport. iPost Nigeria is going to promote human rights, democracy and good governance in the most populous nation in Africa.
