Fund Management

The African Network Information Centre (AFRINIC), acting as Secretariat, hosts the administrative functions and technical infrastructure for the fund, and continue as a contributing partner in the grants’ fund.

The general conduct of the programme (including the specific project criteria, eligibility rules, reporting requirements, and acceptance of additional partners), is a matter for FIRE funding partners to act jointly. The FIRE programme continues to subscribe to these activities as a full contributing partner.

The FIRE Steering Committee includes one voting representative of each funding partner. The Steering Committee defines and manages the fund, making decisions by consensus. The FIRE Committee will, at least annually, review the objectives and activities of the fund.

The Grants Selection Committee includes two voting members appointed by each partner. The Grants Selection Committee reviews grant applications, and makes grants and awards selection decisions by consensus. The minutes of the Grants Selection Committee meeting will be approved by the Steering Committee.
